Legendary espresso maker from Bialetti, designed as early as 1933 by Alfonso Bialetti. The brewing method was developed and patented by Luigi De Ponti for Bialetti. The brewer is made of cast aluminum, with an ergonomic handle. Perfect when you want to easily and quickly brew coffee in an authentic Italian way. The brewer is designed for a certain amount of coffee and is available in several different sizes.
The brewing method:
The moka brewer is placed directly on the stove. When the water in the lower container starts to boil, it is forced, due to the overpressure that forms, up through a pipe and through the supernatant filter containing fine ground coffee. The finished coffee is then collected in the top container. Like espresso machines, the Moka brewer uses pressure when preparing coffee. However, the pressure is lower for the moka brewer; 1.5 - 2 bar compared to the espresso machines' 9 bar.
