Spilkum made of Earthenware by Italian Nicola Fasano. This classic and beautifully designed bowl, equipped with a practical spout, is perfect for kneading dough, whisking sauces, or preparing baked goods. The spout makes it easy to pour from the bowl without spilling, which is especially useful during baking or cooking. The spilkum also works wonderfully as a rustic serving bowl for salads or as a decorative piece on the kitchen counter, filled with fresh fruits or vegetables.
Each bowl is handcrafted with a sturdy feel and features a glaze that withstands the demands of daily use. Subtle variations in color and shape, as well as charming imperfections, are natural parts of the traditional craftsmanship, contributing to the spilkum's authentic and timeless appeal.
The Tradizionali series is a symbol of traditional Apulian ceramics and can be found in most homes in Apulia. With its hand-painted, characteristic pattern of blue flowers framed by two thin brown lines, the sturdy ceramics provide a rustic touch that immediately brings to mind an Italian family dinner among olive groves and lemon trees.
The lines are painted by placing the ceramic on a rotating plate, controlled by a foot pedal, where light brush strokes create delicate lines while the plate rotates. The blue flowers are applied individually with a small stamp. This creates variations that make each detail special. Each plate is unique, with each brushstroke adding a personal touch and creating variations in the design.
Earthenware is dishwasher-safe at lower temperatures, but hand washing is recommended to preserve the item’s original finish and extend its lifespan.
