Nice Scotch pancake pan made entirely of cast iron from Swedish Skeppshult. Can be used on all heat sources, including induction, open fire, and in the oven.
Low hand-sharpened edge for easy access to turn the 7 small pancakes/blinies with a spatula. 5 mm thick bottom to spread heat evenly, get a nice frying surface, and keep the shape for generations. The concave precision-turned bottom also makes the pan stable on the stove-top, even at very high heat.
Why cast iron?
Cast iron has an incredible thermal conductivity, providing heat evenly over the entire pan. Another advantage is that cast iron pans are very durable and hold for all types of kitchen utensils, including metal.
All cast iron products from Skeppshult are pre-treated with Swedish organic rapeseed oil, giving a natural non-stick surface. The oil simultaneously gives the iron a deep black color. A true craft from the foundry in the forests of Småland, where every detail is cast in a sand form that is then broken. Every item is, therefore, unique.
Use and Care
Rinse the pan with warm water before first use to get rid of any dust residue. Then start frying!
Always fry with butter or oil in the pan — when the pan is well set, however, not much fat is needed. Therefore, use hot water and kitchen paper to clean the pan without detergent after use.
Let the pan get really hot before you start frying for the pan to work best. If the food burns, it is only a sign that the pan needs more time. - Characteristics
