Rug no.16 from Cappelen Dimyr is made of wool in a chalky off-white shade and adorned with hand-embroidered flowers. The motif is an interpretation of the French lily. The rug is crafted with hand-spun slub yarn, a special type of yarn that contains irregular thick and thin sections, providing a textured surface. The irregularities create small knots in the yarn, contributing to a rustic feel. The rustic sensation, combined with the hand-embroidered flowers, results in a unique rug with significant charm.
The rug is hand-knotted from 100% natural, unbleached wool. Each rug is unique, and slight variations in color and details may occur as a result of the handmade production. Please note that the dimensions of the rug are specified excluding the fringes. See complete product information under "Features."
Cappelen Dimyr exclusively uses natural fibers such as untreated linen and wool in an effort to create products with minimal environmental impact. Each component of the rug is handmade, washed with natural soap, and sun-dried. No chemicals are used at any stage of production. All products from Cappelen Dimyr are certified by Good Weave Certification and Care & Fair.
Care & Washing Instructions: The rug has a partially long pile, which typically sheds fibers initially. Therefore, we recommend vacuuming the rug frequently to reduce this shedding, which will diminish over time.
To remove stains, only use a small amount of warm water or, for more stubborn stains, a small amount of soap. The wool naturally contains fat that helps prevent stains from penetrating the fibers. For a more thorough cleaning, professional dry cleaning is recommended.
