Stella, which means "star" in Italian, refers to the hand-painted, distinctive patterns of small blue stars/flowers, framed by two thin blue lines. These details give the robust ceramics a rustic feel, immediately evoking images of an Italian family dinner among olive groves and lemon trees.
The lines are painted by placing the ceramics on a rotating wheel controlled by a foot pedal. Delicate brush strokes create the fine lines as the wheel rotates. Each blue star is applied with a small stamp, resulting in subtle variations. Each product is unique, with brush strokes adding a personal touch and creating variations in the design.
The ceramics are made of majolica, a durable earthenware that is dishwasher-safe. However, to preserve the original finish and extend the product's lifespan, hand washing is recommended.
