Sturdy Chopping and Cutting Board made of solid oak with rounded edges and practical inset handles. The wood is joined together in the vertical grain direction (end-grain), which provides a beautiful and nearly indestructible cutting surface.
A chopping board made of glued end-grain wood is among the most durable and useful tools in an active kitchen. Alongside a sharp kitchen knife, the chopping board becomes an indispensable companion that you wouldn't want to be without. Once you start using a large chopping board, it's rare to go back to a smaller cutting board.
The boards are not equipped with feet, allowing both sides to be used. For extra stability, a kitchen towel or similar can be placed underneath the board. Of course, it's also possible to install feet yourself if desired.
Crafting an end-grain chopping board is a true work of craftsmanship. Each piece is joined with the wood's grain in different directions, creating a board that doesn't warp. Additionally, a beautiful pattern is obtained as a bonus.
The chopping board is manufactured in Sweden.
Care and Maintenance:
The easiest way to clean a wooden chopping board is by scraping it with a dough or steel scraper. Since wood has natural antiseptic properties, rarely more cleaning is needed. However, rinsing it with lukewarm water is also possible, but avoid using dish soap.
To keep the board in good condition, it should be oiled regularly. By oiling your chopping board at regular intervals, it will last longer and maintain its appearance and freshness. This can be done when the wood starts to look dull and feels dry. We recommend using wood wax from Grunne, made from linseed oil and beeswax. The wax should be evenly applied using a cloth or kitchen paper in circular motions.
Sometimes, it can also be nice to sand the board with fine sandpaper, giving you a board that looks like new again and again!
