Stool 60 from TON was designed by August Thonet, son of Michael Thonet who, among other things, designed the Thonet 14, which was launched in 1859 and is a real icon that has since sold over 80 million copies the world over.
Thonet 60 is manufactured from male-bent rods in solid beech. Still in the same factory as before, and with the same artisanal methods.

TON is a Czech company founded in 1861 by Michael Thonet and his sons in the city of Bystřice pod Hostýnem. One of the oldest and most classical chairs which is still being produced is Chair No. 18, designed by August Thonet in 1876. Today this chair counts as one of the most successful chairs of all time.
