Chair 18 from TON #228 was designed by August Thonet and was introduced as early as 1876. The production utilized a new, self-developed production technique, which with the help of #246; yes solid woodä into soft shapes. The Thonet 18 is considered to be one of the best-selling chairs of all time.
Chair No.18 is a timeless icon that with its stable frame and beautiful shapes create a nice and flexible chair that fits in most environments and has good comfort. It is made from hand-bent rods in solid beech - using the same methods and in the same factories as before. The rattan seat provides a nice contrast to the chair's övery soft shape.
